How do you get there?

Airplane – (Malaga Aeropuerto)

From Málaga Airport there is a half-hourly bus service to Málaga Central Bus Station (line 19, € 1.00). From the Central Bus Station Málaga there is a bus to Cómpeta three times a day on weekdays and twice a day on Sundays and public holidays according to the following schedule :
Monday to Friday: 11:30 am, 1:15 pm and 6:30 pm.
Saturdays and public holidays: 1.15 pm and 6.30 pm.
On Sundays: 10.30 am and 8.15 pm.
(Bus company: Loymerbus, € 4.50)

You can also take a taxi from Málaga Airport to Cómpeta.

If you book our local taxi driver Maximo through us, he will be waiting for you with your name sign in the arrivals hall of the airport and the taxi ride will cost u € 70 one way (for max. 7 persons).
An airport taxi usually charges € 85 to € 90

Rental car

To be completely independent, you can also rent a car at Malaga airport.

Google 'car rental Malaga' and you will find many car rental companies. Please compare the conditions.

Coming from Málaga take the Autovia del Mediterraneo towards Motril/Almería.
After Vélez Málaga/Torre del Mar, take the Algarrobo exit. Follow the mountain road to Cómpeta (16 km, purple route).

You will pass the villages of Algarrobo and Sayalonga along the way.

Coming from Granada/Motril take the Autovia del Mediterraneo towards Málaga.
After Nerja/Frigiliana take the Torrox/Cómpeta exit. Follow the mountain road to Cómpeta (16 km, pink route).

The climate

Due to the exceptionally mild micro-climate, this region occupies a special place in Europe.

The climate is the mildest in all of Europe.

The mountains that enclose the Axarquia block the cold northern wind from the Spanish plateau.

In winter they also ensure that the warm southern wind from Africa lingers.

As a result, the temperature in the winter can rise to 20 degrees in the shade.

Nowhere do the almond trees blossom before the Axarquia.
