The climate

Due to the exceptionally mild micro-climate, this region occupies a special place in Europe.

The climate is the mildest in all of Europe.

The mountains that enclose the Axarquia block the cold northern wind from the Spanish plateau.

In winter they also ensure that the warm southern wind from Africa lingers.

As a result, the temperature in the winter can rise to 20 degrees in the shade.

The number of people who prefer to spend the winter in the villages of this region is therefore increasing considerably.

Nowhere do the almond trees blossom before the Axarquia.

This often results in colorful views around the turn of the year.

Casa Los Almendros is located in Competa,

Long known as the pearl of the Axarquía; one of the best bases for a stay in Andalusia.
